Private special education program that educates special needs students in the public school alongside their non-disabled peers.
Outreach offers disabled pupils the opportunity to participate in a learning environment more similar to the daily experiences of their non-disabled peers than any private school for the disabled. Students attend classes with the same co-curricular teachers (Art, Music, PE, Computers, Foreign Language, Test Prep, Library Skills, Lunch, Recess, etc.) as their mainstream counterparts in the public school building. Our collaborative approach provides a unique learning experience that keeps disabled students in touch with the academic and social experiences of their non-disabled peers. Our students follow the public school curriculum and spend 40% to 50% of their day in the mainstream, depending on grade level. Academic classes are taught in the Outreach classroom by our highly trained, fully certified Teachers of Students with Disabilities. Our classes consist of 8-10 students with a staff ration of 1 to 3.
